Terms of Service

1. Agreement and eligibility

You accept these Terms when you create an account, continue with Google or otherwise use the service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

To use the service, you must:

• be at least 18 years old;
• be able to enter into a binding contract; and
• not be barred from using the service by law or by an earlier suspension by us.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and share personal information.

2. Your account and security

When you create an account, you agree to:

• give accurate information and keep it up to date;
• keep your account for yourself alone, and not share your password or let anyone else use your account;
• keep your password secure (we recommend one you do not use anywhere else);
• create accounts only for yourself, with your real information, and not by automated means; and
• tell us right away at [Support email] if you think someone else has used your account.

You are responsible for activity on your account, except activity caused by our failure to take reasonable security measures.

We send the emails needed to run your account, such as sign-up confirmations, sign-in links and password resets. They are part of the service.

3. The service

EPPPPrep.ai helps you prepare for the Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology (EPPP). The service includes:

• EPPP Strategy Guide: how to use the platform, structure your preparation and approach exam questions.
• Study Mode: a Study Guide and practice quizzes for each Knowledge Domain.
• Diagnostic test: a set of questions that finds your starting point across the Knowledge Domains.
• Integrated Practice: practice across the official exam domains, including Mixed Practice.
• Full-Length Exams: timed, full-length practice exams with results and review.
• Progress: your results over time.
• Psi: an AI tutor that answers questions about what you are studying (section 5).

Some features work without an account, but your results are saved to your account only when you are signed in.

To keep the service reliable, we set daily limits on quizzes, practice sets, exams and Psi messages. We may change these limits.

We may add, change or remove features. We will try to give you notice of changes that significantly reduce what you can do. We do not promise that the service will always be available or free of errors.

4. Educational purpose

4.1 No guarantee of results

The service is an educational study aid. Your EPPP result depends on many things we do not control, including your preparation, the exam itself and how ASPPB scores it. We do not guarantee that you will pass the EPPP, reach any score or obtain a license.

4.2 Practice scores are study measures

Scores, Averages, Domain Readiness and other benchmarks, practice exam results and progress summaries in the service are EPPPPrep.ai study measures. They help you decide what to study. They are not ASPPB scores or results, and Domain Readiness is not an official passing standard. They do not convert to an EPPP score or a pass or fail result, and they do not predict or guarantee how you will do on the EPPP. Practice results are not proctored and reflect how you chose to use the service.

4.3 Not affiliated with ASPPB

The EPPP is developed by the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB). EPPPPrep.ai is not affiliated with or endorsed by ASPPB. Our practice questions are EPPPPrep.ai practice items, not EPPP items. [Confirm: every practice item was written or licensed by EPPPPrep.ai, and none came from recalled EPPP content.]

Exam details such as format, content areas, fees, dates and policies can change. Before you act on them, check ASPPB's current EPPP Candidate Handbook and your licensing board.

4.4 Not professional advice

The service teaches exam content. It is not clinical, psychological, medical, legal or licensing advice, and it does not create a supervisory, consulting or other professional relationship. Do not use the service to make decisions about the care of clients or patients. Licensing requirements differ by jurisdiction, so ask your licensing board about the requirements that apply to you.

5. Psi, the AI tutor

Psi uses an AI model from a third-party provider to answer questions about EPPP content, based on EPPPPrep.ai study materials. When you use Psi, you agree to the following.

• Psi can be wrong. Psi's replies are generated by AI. They may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date, even when they sound confident. Check factual statements against the Study Guide and authoritative sources, such as ASPPB publications, the APA Ethics Code and applicable law, before you rely on them.
• Psi is a study aid. It is not a psychologist, supervisor, lawyer or licensing authority, and its replies are not professional advice.
• Keep it to EPPP study. Use Psi to understand EPPP content, the Study Guide and practice questions.
• Do not share sensitive information. Do not enter personal, health or financial information, or information about clients, patients, research participants or other people. Our Privacy Policy explains what is sent to our AI provider.
• Use Psi fairly. Do not try to make Psi reveal answers before you answer, its instructions or other hidden content. Do not try to get around its limits or safeguards. Do not use it to create content unrelated to your study, or content that is unlawful, harmful or harassing.
• Limits. Psi has a daily message limit and may sometimes be unavailable. We may change, pause or stop offering Psi.
• Replies. You may use Psi's replies for your personal study under the license in section 7.2.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• share your account or password, or sell, transfer or lend your access to the service;
• copy, record, download, reproduce, distribute, publish, sell or share our questions, answer explanations, Study Guides, the EPPP Strategy Guide, exams or other content, including by posting them on websites, forums, social media, study groups or flashcard apps, except as section 7.2 allows;
• use bots, scrapers, crawlers or other automated tools to access, collect or download content or data from the service;
• reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the service, or try to discover its source code, answer keys or other non-public content, except where the law allows this despite this restriction;
• try to access another person's account or data, or any non-public part of the service, our systems or our providers' systems;
• test, scan or probe the service for security weaknesses, or get around its security measures or daily limits (if you find a security problem, please report it to [Support email]);
• interfere with or overload the service, or introduce malware;
• use the service or its content to build a competing product, or to train or improve an AI model;
• present practice results as official EPPP or ASPPB scores; or
• use the service in a way that is unlawful, harmful or harassing, or that infringes anyone's rights.

6.1 EPPP exam security

Respect the security of the EPPP. Do not submit, post, request or share content you remember from a live EPPP administration, such as questions, answer choices or other details, whether in Psi or anywhere else in the service, and do not ask others to do so. Sharing or seeking live exam content may violate ASPPB's exam security rules and the agreement you accept as a candidate, and it may have consequences for your exam and your licensure. We may suspend or end your account and, where appropriate, report the matter to ASPPB. [Confirm with counsel: whether to include the statement about reporting to ASPPB.]

7. Intellectual property

7.1 Our content

The service and its content belong to EPPPPrep.ai or our licensors. This includes the questions, answer explanations, Study Guides, the EPPP Strategy Guide, exams, Psi's replies, software, design, text and graphics. Our names and logos, including EPPPPrep.ai, Psi and Helix U, may not be used without our written permission.

7.2 Your license

While you follow these Terms, we give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to access and use the service and its content for your own, non-commercial EPPP preparation. You may take personal notes for your own study. You may not use our content for teaching, tutoring, courses or any commercial purpose without our written permission. We keep all rights we do not expressly grant.

7.3 What you submit

You keep any rights you have in the messages you send to Psi and in other information you give us. You allow us to use them to provide and secure the service, as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for having the right to submit them.

7.4 Feedback

If you send us ideas, suggestions or error reports, we may use them without restriction and without paying you.

7.5 Other names

References to the EPPP and ASPPB identify the exam and its developer. They do not mean that ASPPB is affiliated with or endorses EPPPPrep.ai.

7.6 Copyright concerns

If you believe something in the service infringes your copyright, email [Support email] with the details.

8. Institutional access through Helix U

Helix U is our program for university psychology departments.

• If you get access through an institution, the institution's agreement with us may also apply to your access, for example to how long your institutional access lasts.
• Invitation tokens and other access codes are for the invited person only. Do not share them.
• Today, institutions cannot see your account, answers or results. If this changes, our Privacy Policy will explain what they can see, and we will tell you before any of your information is shared.

• If you accept these Terms on behalf of an institution, you confirm that you have authority to bind it.

9. Fees and billing

10. Third-party services

The service relies on third-party services, such as Google sign-in and our hosting, database and AI providers. It also links to outside websites, such as ASPPB's. We are not responsible for third-party websites and services, and their own terms apply when you use them.

11. Suspension and termination

• You can stop using the service at any time and delete your account from the Account page. Deleting your account permanently removes your learning records, as our Privacy Policy explains.
• We may suspend or end your access, with or without notice, if you break these Terms, if the law requires it, or if your use creates a risk to the service, other learners or anyone else. Where reasonable, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond.
• We may stop offering all or part of the service. If we do, we will give you reasonable notice.

When your access ends, your license under section 7.2 ends. Sections 4, 6.1, 7 (except section 7.2) and 12 to 17 continue to apply, along with any other terms that by their nature should continue.

12. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement and accuracy. We do not promise that the service or its content will be accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted, secure or error-free, that it will meet your needs, or that it will help you pass the EPPP.

Some places do not allow these disclaimers, so some of them may not apply to you.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost opportunities or delays in licensure, even if we were told they were possible; and
• our total liability for all claims relating to the service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim arose, or US$100. [Confirm with counsel: liability cap.]

These limits apply to every legal theory. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct or anything else that cannot be limited under applicable law.

14. Indemnity

To the extent the law allows, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless EPPPPrep.ai and its members, managers, employees and agents from claims, losses and costs, including reasonable attorneys' fees, that arise from your misuse of the service, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of the law or of someone else's rights. We will tell you about any such claim, and we may take part in the defense with lawyers of our choice.

15. Dispute resolution and governing law

• Talk to us first. Before you file a claim, email [Support email] with your name, a description of the dispute and what you are asking for. We will try in good faith to resolve it within 30 days. [Confirm with counsel: informal resolution step and period.]
• Governing law. The laws of the State of California govern these Terms and any dispute about the service, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. [Confirm with counsel: governing law.]
• Where disputes are heard. A dispute that is not resolved informally will be heard only in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you and we consent to those courts' jurisdiction. • Your local rights. Nothing in this section takes away rights you have under the consumer protection laws of the place where you live that cannot be waived by contract.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. When we do, we will post the new version and change the "Last updated" date. If a change is material, we will tell you in advance by email or with a notice in the service. Changes apply from the date shown and do not apply to disputes that arose before that date. If you keep using the service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the service and delete your account.

17. General

• Entire agreement. These Terms, together with any additional terms you accept for specific features, are the whole agreement between you and us about the service.
• Severability. If any part of these Terms cannot be enforced, the rest stays in effect.
• No waiver. If we do not enforce a term, we have not waived it.
• Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours to an affiliate, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
• Events beyond our control. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events we cannot reasonably control.
• Notices. We may send notices to your account email address or post them in the service. You can send notices to [Support email] or to our mailing address in section 18.
• Headings. Headings are for convenience only.
